A gas station is located on a prominent location in the Shahdads Kalouts road . The location will combine the weekly or even daily practice of fuelling with office space and a fishmonger.

Shahdad gas station of the future aspires to sustainability, availing of solar to generate its own power. Solar panels are embedded in the eponymous kite-like roof, whose surface is comprised of a white, translucent textile. Rainwater collected in the dips and troughs formed by the structure and risers surface passes through the pillars and is used to meet the water requirements of the facilities below. At ground level the station assumes an orthogonal cube-shaped plan, into which several programs are arranged. Though predominantly a gas station, The Shahdad gas station is projected as a hub for commuters and travelers, also featuring a pharmacy, wine shop, and supermarket.

This development proposes principles such as sustainabirlity, specific crafts from the region and climate neutral buildings. On a long plot, a two sided orientated design expresses a division in key elements. This results in a visual en physic relation between the the main road to the village and the Kalouts road .

From the village road the building could be described as inviting and form the Kalouts road it is highly visible and spatially interesting.

The gas stations consist of a series of structural “trees”. They feature with canopies much like the crowns of trees that filters and offers shade and protection from the elements while defining a calming atmosphere.

Responding to the nature of its site as a meeting point between the industrial and the touristic, the environmentally efficient gas station would cater for thousands of commuters each day.
